Summer's Coming to an End

I know my faithful blog readers are probably wanting an update, so I thought I would catch everyone up on the happenings since we've been home from Arkansas. We spent last week getting settled in at home and back to our routines. The boys were excited to play with their friends again. We have had some playdates at the park, and went to Hollywild to see the animals. I can't believe that summer is coming to an end. School starts next week for both boys. We have meet the teacher day on Friday, then Monday is the first day of school. Jace is excited to see his school friends again. We also start a new semester at Little Gym this week, and Jace starts soccer next Saturday. Things will be busy, busy but I'm ready! Jace is anxiously anticipating his birthday coming up. He wants a Scooby Doo party of course. His party will be the weekend before his birthday at our gym. The weekend after his birthday, we are taking an end of summer beach vacation to Myrtle Beach. The boys have been asking to go the beach all summer, so I know they are going to have a blast. This weekend, we are hosting an end of summer party for the neighborhood on the patio. We are looking forward to hanging out with the neighbors and meeting the new people who have recently moved in. So, there's an update on the Hicks' household! I'm sure there will be lots of pics to come soon!

More of Our Arkansas Trip
We had a wonderful visit in south Arkansas with all our family! The boys loved spending time with their grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins. We got to love on Teralee a lot. Jace couldn't get enough of her. He wanted to do everything for her and hold her all the time. Jerod loved on her some, but wasn't as interested in her as Jace was. I tried to spend as much time with her as I could and still take care of the boys. She is a precious, little peanut! The boys really enjoyed their time with Ma. They both have a very special bond with her. Jace wants her to do everything for him and won't allow me to do anything when she's around. Jerod loves his Ma so much too. He gave her lots of hugs and kisses and wasn't nearly as attached to me this trip. We also got to spend time with Nana and PaDee, Uncle, Sara, Uncle Bo, Aunt Belinda, Ben, and Drew. We got to visit with Grandma McRae, Aunt Connie, and April too. There are always so many people to see when we visit Arkansas, and we love getting to spend time with each and every one of them. The boys are missing everyone so much this week!

First Time Tubing
The boys always get to do so many fun things when they visit Arkansas. This trip their Uncle took them to the lake to go tubing. They had a blast! Neither one of them were scared or timid about getting on the tube. Jace even asked to ride all by himself. He kept saying faster, faster! I guess it runs in their blood...Jer and I both grew up at the lake doing all kinds of water sports. I now definitely see a boat in our future! Thanks, uncle, for a fun day at the lake!
