Update on the Boys
I know, I know...It's been too long since I've updated the blog! I'm sorry! Like always, it's crazy busy around here. I'll try to catch you all up on what's going on in the Hicks' household....
Jace- The Big 5 Year Old- You are such a big boy now! Since you've turned five, you seem so much older. You had your well-check with Dr. Chea last week. You weigh 41 lbs. and are 42 inches tall. You had a great check-up, and Dr. Chea says you are very healthy. You are a good eater and are beginning to try new foods. You are concerned if what you eat is healthy or not. You ask lots of questions about healthy and unhealthy foods. I love it! You also ask about excerising. I guess because you see mommy going to the gym and daddy playing lots of tennis and mountain biking. I've explained to you that you get your workout by running and playing with your friends and riding your bike. You want to get "big muscles" as you say. You are doing gymnastics at a new gym. It's a little more serious than what you have been doing in the past. You are in an all boys class with a male teacher. You are loving it! Your coach has you working on some high level skills and really pushes you to do your best. It's a perfect balance of fun and learning. You want so badly to climb the hanging rope! You try every week, and I know one day soon you will get it. You just need a little more upper body strength. You have asked to start tennis. (wonder where you got that desire from?) So, we are starting tennis at the gym this week. Dad took you to get a new racquet and has been working with you at our neighborhood tennis court. You are doing great and are very focused. School is going so well! You absolutely love your teachers and classmates. We are so lucky that you have an amazing K4 teacher. We had Open House this week and got to see some things you are learning. Ms. Brown says you are a great student. You are writing your name and can spell some words. The math and handwriting programs you are doing mommy actually taught before, so I know they are great programs. There's no doubt you will be more than ready for Kindergarten next year. You are very vocal and love to share your experiences and ask lots of questions. Mommy and daddy couldn't be more proud of you, Jace! You are the sunshine in our lives!
Jerod- The Best Little Brother- Jerod Daniel, you are such a sweet, sweet three year old! You seem so grown up lately too. You are talking so well and say the funniest things. You are loving school! You have the sweetest teachers and are enjoying your new friends. You have a special friend, Madeline. You have told us she is your "girlfriend". So precious! We saw Madeline one day at McDonald's, and you guys had to eat lunch together and play together. Your teachers say you guys are big buddies at school. You are our little lover man! You come home everyday telling us all about the things you are learning in science and spanish. You know how to spell your name, and will tell us j-e-r-o-d! You are taking gymnastics at the same place as your brother. You are in the 3-4 year old class and loving it. You get to do all kinds of fun things. You are know riding your bike that you got for your birthday. You can push the pedals all by yourself now. I know you are going to just take off on it one day. You are interested in tennis as well. Dad got you a new racquet, and you are hitting the ball well. You adore your big brother, and you guys play so well together. You truly are best buds. Jerod, you are our little monkey man, and we love you so much!!
